Read about Fernando’s residency project in his own words…
“During the residency, I will continue the writing process for a new piece that I’ll be presenting next season at the National Drama Center in Madrid. The piece is called “Las apariciones”, and it is a forward-looking response to another play I wrote a few years ago, titled “Los Remedios”. That work was an autofiction that explored my roots in the “Los Remedios” neighborhood in Seville. Along with an actor friend from my neighborhood whom I’ve known since I was five, we embodied all the people who shaped us, seeing if anything of them remained within us.
Now, it’s about seeing if we can also summon what is yet to come. It will be an autofiction oriented toward the future.”
